The Bier Markt (both locations) is currently running its Fondue Festivul until the end of February. I had a chance to stop in and speak to staff and chef Michael Cipolli about the festival and the delicious offerings.
During this event, the Bier Markt will be offering 7 different types of fondues. Some are cheese based, others are hot broth and there are even a few that are dessert based with rich chocolate.
I had the opportunity to taste the Brie and Lobster fondue, served with fresh baguette and crunchy crab cakes. The fondue was paired with crispy Stiegl lager to break down the thickness of the brie.
The Belgian chocolate and Bailey’s fondue was served with Sri Lankan Sinha stout, which really opened up the flavours of the fondue.
