A Day on the Eglinton Way
![]()
There are numerous areas of Toronto that one simply hasn’t been introduced to yet or has to reacquaint themselves with every so often. Recently, I had the chance to re-introduce myself to a happening part of Eglinton Avenue West – The Eglinton Way.
The Eglinton Way BIA invited me to come check out what is new and hot at that end of Eglinton Avenue. The Eglinton Way is the stretch of Eglinton Avenue West from Avenue Road to Heddington Avenue, filled with restaurants, spas and shops. Below are a few of the places that peeked my interest and I decided to check out.
Beauty
There are a number of spas and salons sprinkled along the area; the one I visited was the Legally Blonde Salon. Their speciality is the manicure and blow-dry combo. The client is able to get a manicure while their hair is being styled. This proved to be not only indulgent, but also a real time-saver. For those times when are girl has a million things to get done before heading on a night-on-the-town, a 50 minute trip to the salon for hair and nails proves to be indispensible. This combo starts at $60 and goes up according to the desired hairstyle and manicure.

Shopping
This stretch of Eglinton could be considered “Yorkville North” with a number of high-end shops to splurge in. TNT, TNT Blu and TNT Kids, along with Honey and Liv By Au Lit are among the boutiques parading the finest fashions the season has to offer. One shop in particular I found to have a number of fun and fashionable items was Sense of Independence. Although targeted at young adults, it featured a nice array of more modern items to spice up a dull corporate wardrobe and add a splash of colour to the palate. The accessories alone are worth the trip.
